The Vestibular/Ocular Motor Screening (VOMS) instrument was published in 2014 in the American Journal of Sports Medicine by Mucha, Collins, Elbin, Furman, Troutman-Enseki, DeWolf, Marchetti, and Kontos - the clinical research team at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Sports Medicine Concussion Program. The Pittsburgh-five concussion subtype framework was published the same year in Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy by Collins, Kontos, Reynolds, Murawski, and Fu. The platform's biomarker substrate cross-validates against the VOMS reference instrument and the Pittsburgh-five subtype framework. The science is the science the sports medicine community already trusts.
